Fibre Fling 4

Every year in the Spring Out of the Box Fibre Artists organize a wonderful exhibition of Fibre Art – from art quilts, embroidery, felting, wearable art, jewelry, to mixed media.    The creative, innovative work of this group is something to see.   This year our exhibition took place on April 10 and 11 in the Kitchissippi United Church in Ottawa.  It was coupled with a delicious tea and raised funds for the Grandmothers Project of the Stephen Lewis Foundation.   This year well over 200 pieces were exhibited.   We also had a wonderful sales area where visitors may purchase  smaller items.    Watch for us in 2016!

Out of the Box will have a booth at Fibre Fest in Almonte in September 2015.    We have several rotating colour challenge exhibitions at Wabi Sabi and Canada Beading Supply.   Look for us in 2016 at our next Fibre Fling as well as various other venues across Ottawa and the surrounding area.  In late 2016 we will be exhibiting at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum in Almonte.

Pathways

An exhibit of the original fibre artwork –  June 23, 2012 to August 18, 2012

Our lives are shaped by our roots, by geography and events, by the people we meet and the choices we make.  “Pathways” is an exhibit that encourages an awareness of the paths we are on and a desire to gravitate towards that which brings us joy, feeds our spirit and encourages us to thrive.
